Seminar on Mongolia's Medium-Term Budget Framework Explores Challenges and Reform Options, Co-Organized by UNDP's EU-Funded Project

A seminar on Mongolia's Medium-Term Budget Framework (MTBF) brought together key stakeholders to identify opportunities and challenges and discuss strategies to address them. The event was co-organized by the Ministry of Economy and Development, the Fiscal Stability Council, and UNDP’s 🇪🇺 EU-funded “SDG-Aligned Budgeting to Transform Employment in Mongolia” project.

May be an image of 9 people, table, lighting and daisDuring the seminar, Noman Ishtiaq, Senior Expert from UNDP’s Sustainable Finance Hub, gave a presentation on common principles, objectives, and key concepts of the MTBF, reform options, legislative requirements, international practices, and the development of fiscal policy statements and ceilings. Participants engaged in group discussions on Mongolia's current MTBF process, identifying challenges and potential solutions.
