UNDP, in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and UNICEF Mongolia, supported the development of a Child Protection budget for 2024 using a result-based approach within the “SDG aligned budgeting to transform employment in Mongolia” project funded by the European Union.
This initiative largely contributes to better alignment of the child protection services and budget with national priority goals for children, while improving efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the planning and execution of funds dedicated to the protection of children. It further advances the achievement of the SDGs to end all forms of violence against children by promoting peaceful, inclusive, and just societies for all.
Over 100 specialists, auditors, and accountants working in the child protection sector nationwide built their capacity on how to apply result-based budgeting and costing approaches in the provision of child protection services and received the latest updates on relevant legislative reform measures.
