We are pleased to present the "Employing Persons with Intellectual Disabilities" illustrated handbook!

An estimated 1.3 billion persons with disabilities, or 16 percent of the global population, continue to experience systematic inequalities across nearly all aspects of life.

According to a 2023 survey by the National Statistics Office, only 16 percent of working-age persons with disabilities in Mongolia are employed, which is 11 percent lower than the global average and significantly lower than the 56.7 percent employment rate of the general population in the country.

The "INCLUSIVE JOB MEDIATION EVENT" aimed at promoting employment for people with disabilities, was organized in 2023 by the European Union-funded “SDG-Aligned Budgeting to Transform Employment in Mongolia” project, jointly implemented by UNDP, FAO, and ILO.

On this🌐🙌♿️“International Day of Persons with Disabilities”🌐🙌♿️, we are pleased to present the "Employing Persons with Intellectual Disabilities" illustrated handbook, developed based on the experiences and lessons learned from efforts to support the employment of people with intellectual disabilities. The handbook is designed to serve as a foundational resource, offering key information and actionable recommendations to help employers and job coaches support the employment of persons with intellectual disabilities and provide sustainable job opportunities.
